At Coastal Giclee, we developed our own metal print process utilizing state of the art pigmented ink print processes to achieve the highest quality print possible as well as the most fade resistant metal print we could achieve. The dye-sublimation method used almost exclusively in the market today can not achieve the resolution, color accuracy and gamut, shadow and highlight detail or smooth gradations that are capable on today's high-end pigmented printers. The print is produces on a specialized film on an Epson P20000 printer with inks rated at 200-400 years. The print is then laminated with either a Gloss or Matte laminate with an anti-scratch coating which prevents micro-scratches which can occur on ordinary laminates when cleaning, buffing or just rubbing on it. The laminated print is then mounted onto ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) like Dibond which is much sturdier than the aluminum sheets used in the normal dye sublimation metal prints on the market. Corners are rounded if desired and a float mount for hanging is installed on the back at no charge.
